Globe VHS are proud to announce they are now supporting the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. 10% of the profit of any van hire booked and 10% of the profit from every car sold until the end of March 2021 will be donated to Thames Valley Air Ambulance via Work for Good.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance are a charity providing emergency medical services by air and land to patients within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. The Thames Valley Air Ambulance was called out 2,570 times and delivered advanced medical care to 1,497 patients, from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020. On an average day, seven people are in urgent need of their services.
Operating from RAF Benson, the maximum flying time to hospital from anywhere in the region is less than 15 minutes. If a patient reaches hospital within 60 minutes of injury (referred to as the ‘Golden Hour’) their chances of survival are dramatically increased. That is why the rapid response of the air ambulance is so vital in an emergency.
But it costs £3,325 to send the helicopter on each mission and TVAA are an independent charity and receive no government or National Lottery funding, relying solely on donations from supporters.
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Thames Valley Air Ambulance has continued to provide its critical care service but has suffered the same constraints of many charities trying to raise funds during these difficult times.
