1. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME WHEN COLLECTING THE VEHICLE?

Three important items you must bring when collecting the vehicle:

  1. A valid driver’s licence card is required; we are unable to accept paper licence.
  2. Another proof of address such as utility bill, or a credit card/ debit card bill or statement with the cardholder’s name and address on it dated within the last 3 months.
  3. For the validation of driving licence, please complete a DVLA check https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence and share with us the driving licence summary details. When collecting the vehicle, please bring your valid driving licence, utility bill, and credit card/ debit card bill or statement with the cardholder’s name and address on it dated within the last 3 months.
  4. To secure your booking, full payment is required by credit or debit card. Alternatively, you may pay by bank transfer. Please send payment to: Lloyds Bank Plc / Sort Code 30-94-28 / Account No. 75737068 / Account Name: Globe Vehicle Hire and Sales Limited. On the day of collection, there is a £350 holding deposit.

For foreign driver’s license holders: EU, Commonwealth and North American licences are normally acceptable, but we may have to check licences issued in other countries with our insurers first. If you hold a foreign license and are living in the UK, you must be able to provide a current UK address.

2. HOW MANY DRIVERS CAN I HAVE?

Any vehicle hired under this agreement may only be driven by authorised drivers, who have been approved. There’s one authorised driver per booking, you may arrange to add multiple drivers at a cost of £10 + VAT per driver, per day.

3. WHAT EXCESS AM I LIABLE FOR?

Insurance excess is £1000. In the event of damage caused to the vehicle as a result of height restrictions, the Hirer will be fully liable for all costs associated with repair, replacement, and any related expenses. The Hirer shall cover the entire cost of repairs, parts, labour, and any consequential costs that arise due to the damage.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – £15 + VAT per day; a chargeable option that you can pay in order to reduce the amount of the insurance excess that you are liable for to £500 from £1000.

Windscreen Cover – a one-off payment of £20 + VAT for the entire booking.

Towbar – £50 + VAT

4. IS BREAKDOWN COVER INCLUDED?

All our vehicles include comprehensive insurance and full UK 24-hour breakdown cover. While breakdowns are extremely rare due to our fleet of mostly new vehicles, we also provide an out-of-hours contact number in every vehicle for your peace of mind.

5. HOW MUCH DEPOSIT DO YOU REQUIRE?

For rentals of up to 14 days, we take a pre-authorisation of £350 when you collect your vehicle. These will be held by your bank and can take up to 14 working days with most banks to clear. For longer hire’s, we physically take £350 as a deposit and physically refund upon satisfactory return. Some prestige cars have higher deposits.

6. HOW FAR AHEAD DO I HAVE TO BOOK?

VE103B will take at least 5 working days to process. Ideally, please give us at least a week’s notice to process your documents to take for the trip. Should you need the vehicle registration and details to book for the Eurotunnel crossing, we will be able to do so once we have the full payment.

7. WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Wherever possible we will adjust your booking to suit your requirements. However, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the hire start time otherwise, a cancellation fee of 50% of the hire charge will be incurred. If cancelled on the day of hire, it will be the full payment of the booking. If you need to amend or cancel a booking, please call us immediately.

8. DO YOU DO DELIVERY AND COLLECTION?

Free delivery and collection for bookings minimum of 3 days. For vehicle hire less than 3 days, there is a an additional fee Vehicle Hire Delivery & Collection – Globe Vehicle Hire & Sales. You can have your car or van delivered right to you—and picked up again when your rental ends. No need to visit the branch! One of our friendly team members will personally hand over the keys, complete the paperwork with you, and walk you through a quick vehicle check—both at delivery and collection.

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll be in touch to arrange your documentation and secure your delivery time slot.

9. DO YOU HAVE AN OUT-OF-OFFICE DROP-OFF FACILITY?

We do offer an out-of-hours drop-off facility and a late drop-off fee for £25 (plus VAT). Until the vehicle is officially checked in by our team—typically the following morning—it remains your responsibility. When making a booking, please inform us if there is any uncertainty about your return time. This helps us manage our schedule and accommodate other customers. If you anticipate a delay, let us know as soon as possible. Should the vehicle you have on hire be needed for a subsequent booking, we will inform you—usually at the time of collection—so you’re aware of any timing constraints in advance.

10. CAN I LEAVE MY OWN VEHICLE WITH YOU?

We provide free parking for the duration of your vehicle hire. Whilst the area can become busy at times, we typically have spaces available. If you would like to leave a vehicle with us, please inform us at the time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements. We also offer professional car wash, valeting, and detailing services Car Valeting & Detailing in Globe Park, Marlow I Globe VHS. These services are available at an additional cost.

11. EU TRAVEL HIRE

Our insurance will be able to cover the Foreign Travel hire at an extra cost. VE103B will take at least 5 working days to process. The Hirer will have to arrange the RAC/AA breakdown recovery requirement for EU travels.

Please note that we are unable to provide any additional equipment that may be compulsory for driving abroad (e.g. breathalyzers, warning triangles, first aid kits etc.) and this responsibility rests on the driver. Customers are required to be aware of any requirements of the destination and any countries or regions customers might travel through.
